Coventry Mind is one of the charities being recognised for promoting better working with local authorities and community groups, to improve the lives of people in the city.
Coventry is among a handful of areas in the country to receive a “Compact” Green Flag for forging improved links between charities and other agencies to tackle issues such as crime, infant mortality, dementia and mental health.
The work being done by Coventry Mind with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust
provides a service of “Improving Access to Psychological Therapies” (IAPT)
It uses a model where patients can be referred through a low intensity Telephone and Referral Centre or via direct referral for High Intensity triage. After screening, they are treated by the most appropriate steps to be given the best possible care.
The introduction of this service in October 2009 led to it receiving a Special Commendation at the Coventry Compact Awards, held on 11th June 2010.
Coventry was the first area in country to establish its own local awards to complement the national ones.
